Senior Centers offer social activities, educational programs, referral services, health and wellness programs, meal programs (see meal program listings below) and other services to keep seniors active and engaged. For a donation, transportation services are available to and from the senior centers.

The Council was created by state law to review the development and implementation of the state plan on aging and to serve as the official state advocate for seniors promoting measures to enhance the quality of life for older adults. Past and present issues include grandparent concerns, older worker issues, long-term care, energy and utilities, affordable housing, rural transportation, guardians and conservators, and misuse of medications by older adults as well developing services to Alzheimer’s patients and families, promoting intergenerational understanding, and developing physical fitness activities for older adults..

**Pre-registration is required and reservations are needed. Reservations must be made at least 24 or 48 hours (depending on service) in advance and may be made up to two weeks in advance. Available for qualified seniors 60 years of age and older, low income and disabled residents. Service will transport qualified individuals to medical and appointments, social activities, senior centers, adult day care, shopping trips and employment.
